Description

Boabab:
Local interest only. Close to the village sector with short routes. Quick approach and comfortable base. On rainy days, it’s possible to practice boulder at the base of the routes.

Bloc del Roger:
Extra short and bouldery routes on very good rock. Zero walking approach. Be aware of vehicles.

Margalwest:
Good sector with slightly overhanging routes. Although the rock is not very good in the lower part, in the upper part it is excellent. Approach is long and not suitable for children.

Ca L'Arna:
Sector with short and bouldery routes with good rock. Very good belay area for children and short approach.

Pet de Monja:
Vertical and slabby sector. Very technical climbing, similar to Montserrat. Good 6th grade routes sector in the shade. Short approach and good belay area, but a bit narrow.

Tenebres Extensió:
New sector. Vertical and slightly overhanging routes, with very good rock. Good sector to climb 7th grade routes. Short approach and good belay area for kids. Good for combining with El Racó de les Tenebres (2 min walking).

Racó de les Tenebres:
Excellent sector with different styles. On the left side of the sector, the routes are short, slightly steep, in the 6th and 7th grade. On the long and steep central wall, we can climb some of the endurance classic routes of Margalef like La corva de la felicitat or Sátiva patática. On the right side of the sector there’s an impressive roof full of very hard routes. The belay area is comfortable.

Bloc del Porc:
Excellent sector with very good and easy routes, and some 6th and 7th grade routes. Very good belay area and very short approach. Perfect sector for beginners and for kids.

Racó de la Finestra:
Probably the most popular sector of Margalef (together with Espadelles). Huge and spectacular sector with all types of overhangs and styles. One can find here the most impressive overhanging wall of the area (although not the longest one), full of 9th grade routes. Besides, the sector is perfect for those climbers who climb from 7b to 8b+. There are only a few routes under 7a. Good belay area.

7 Pecats Capitals:
New sector with very long 6th and 7th grade routes. Vertical and demanding routes, with a rock that’s a mix of limestone and conglomerate. Good sector for summer. Shady and windy. Left side of the cliff base is a bit uncomfortable.

MVP:
New and small sector with very good, long and slightly overhanging routes. Very good rock with difficult routes. Good belay area.

Cami de l'Ermita:
Excellent sector with gorgeous views. Climbing here offers one of the best 6th grade routes of Margalef. Long and vertical routes, with very good rock. Comfortable belay area, but a bit leaning in its central part. Climbing is possible all year.

Balcó de l'Ermita
Excellent sector with fantastic views. With it’s neighbour Cabernet one of the best options to climb in winter. On the left side of the sector very good, athletic and endurance routes of 7th and 8th grade can be found. On the right side of the sector on an impressive overhang wall one can find very hard routes and some projects. Belay area is situated over a wide ledge, but not suitable for kids.

Cabernet:
Excellent sector with fantastic views. One of the best sectors (together with its neighbour Balcó de l’Ermita) to climb in winter. Climbing in the lower part offers easy and short routes, and some bouldery 7´s too. In the upper part enjoy a magnificent and slightly overhanging wall with long and endurance routes with good holds. The belay area at the upper part is a narrow ledge where careful must be taken. 80m rope needed.

4x4:
New sector with very short and steep routes. Good rock. Left side of the belay area is very uncomfortable.

El Balcó del Torroner:
New sector with incredible views. Climbing here offers very good endurance routes, slightly overhang, with a different and very good blue rock. Good option for summer. Shady and often windy. The belay area e is a comfortable but narrow ledge, not suitable for kids.

Curtes del Torroner:
New sector with short and power-endurance routes. Superb quality rock. On the left side of the sector you’ll find very steep and hard routes. On the right side there are vertical routes in the 6th and 7th grade. Good option for summer. Good belay area, but the approach is a bit long for kids. Good for combining with «Llargues del Torroner» and «Balcó del Torroner».

Llargues del Torroner:
New sector with long, technical and vertical routes. Superb quality rock. Perhaps the best option for summer, shade all day and almost 1000 m of altitude. Very good belay area, but long approach for kids. Good for combining with «Curtes del Torroner» and «Balcó del Torroner»
