East Buttress of Middle Cathedral

A Yosemite classic! A beautiful view of El Cap from the start and it keeps getting better as you go up. The slab pitch is the obvious crux but it is well bolted. We did this climb in the early season and the descent was a bit of an epic. Finding the rap descent is tricky, especially with snow.

11 pitches of great climbing! Everything from fingers to hands to wide hands, liebacks, fun corners and one pitch of face climbing. Descent is not fun.

The gully up to the start was totally flooded by the storm one week earlier so the trail was gone and diffucult to find at 5am. Somewhat overratedclimb but long and sustained. Very demanding descent with alot of loose rock. Climbed quickly topping out as the first team of the day.
