Drive from Margalef towards Lleida for 1.6km (km 6.2) and turn right onto the road to «El Pantà» (reservoir). After 350m, just before the recycling bins, turn left onto a surfaced track. Continue 2.3km to reach an obvious parking area.
Take a well marked footpath at the end of the parking, passing next to a stone house on the right side. After 2 minutes walking descent a slab of rock using a fixed-rope. After the fixed rope the path splits into two. Turn right to go to Punta Espadelles and to Totxo de les Espadelles.
Turn left if you want to go to Soledad. First you need to cross all Espadelles sectors to reach Extension.
